14th-century philosophy; medieval Latin; textual criticism; philosophy of language; history of science and mathematics.

Current Project

I am currently working on a critical edition and translation of two works by John Wyclif. The first, known as De logica, is an introductory logic textbook usually dated to around 1360, when Wyclif was Master of Balliol. The second, known as Logicae continuatio, is a much longer and extraordinarily wide-ranging work usually dated to the 1360s, though Wyclif may have revised it shortly before his death in 1384. Both works were printed for the first time in the 1890s, but the edition is notoriously unreliable.
